~WHAT'S THAT STINK~
Oh, how it hurt to laugh so hard
At what your son had done
Those farcical thoughts and memories
Are truly amusing to some,
Though......
Not to everyone.....
Dedicated to my Best Friends son, The Z-man
~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~
There's a moment when to excuse them
For their lack of common sense
When we stumble upon their discoveries
Even when... it makes you tense
What started out as a simple task
Brushing his dog's coat out
Mindful thoughts and questions stirring
Failing to ask, in doubt.....
With a youthful sense of craze
He'd accomplished, to one's amaze
Polishing her like a champion
Feeling such pride, rejoicing within.....
SURPRISE he said, what do you think?
No longer does our dogs breath stink.....
Wow, what's your secret there my son
Her coat must have weighed quite a ton.....
It is you see, with canine beauty
Delicate strokes of the brush
Quite useful to have, proper tools handy
Taking your time, rather than rush.....
You see, I brushed so much
Sooo much I brushed
I brushed
And
Brushed
And
Brushed.....
I was going to fuss, as I generally do
Though, accepted your challenge
And the towel I threw.....
I gathered the tools from the draw they were in
After searching all over, for that stupid dog bin.....
There in their bathroom, for all places to be
Why didn't they say that and make it easy for me.....
So proud of his accomplishment
He was grinning ear to ear
Looking for that pat on the back
Anticipating, Dad was near.....
My... this place looks squeaky clean
No trace here, of a grooming scene.....
As the moment surpassed, Mom was freshening up
While praising her son's earlier surprise
He had noticed then, a familiarity again
Enormously round grew his eyes.....
For what he saw...
Just made NO sense...
Bristles everywhere.....
His muscles then grew tense
Over bristles, everywhere...
In her mouth...
And
Through her hair...
She scrubbed
And
Scrubbed
And
Scrubbed
And
SCRUBBED
Oblivious to his stare.....
His skin grew pale, and clammy
She asked him, WHAT'S THAT STINK?
Her nose had wrinkled in question
And proceeded to spit in the sink.....
Before her very eyes...
Her rinse began to float
The drain had been disguised
As a disposal, for a fur coat.....
How quickly things had changed
from being... that favored son
To seeing how athletic
That boy sure could RUN.....
Much, to Moms SURPRISE
This canine task was not soooo wise...
Requesting to fulfill...
Expectations of them having...
The usual common sense
Tends to rise disappointment
That can grow dramatically intense...
A suspicious guess and guarantee
Hinting, Mom's breath wreaked.....
Though, not your usual toothpaste
more like......
