Bio

I was born in Ft. Belvoir, Virgina in 1962. I have one younger sister. My family traveled quite a bit. We were army brats. As my father was transferred from one base to another, we lived in six states and 3 countries. As my father neared retirement he became an abusive alcoholic. Needless to say shortly after retirement my parents were divorced. With my father being a decorated military man, serving in 2 wars, Korea and Vietnam, it wasn't too hard for him to gain full custody of my sister and myself. So began the alcoholism and abuse we suffered until I was 15 years old. My father and I had been going at each other with words for a year or so until it came to a head one day when it turned to exchanging blows. He was drunk and I got the best of him. The next time I saw him was at his funeral. I wouldn't have been there then, if not for the begging of my sister for help with the arrangements of the funeral and the financial burden. Everything he owned I gave to my sister. She stayed with him till his death, taking care of him throughout the alcoholic years and the disease onset by his drinking. I know that I am beginng to babble, but I want you to understand why most of my poems are dark and morbid. But now I have a wife and 5 wonderful children ages 24, 21, 19, 18, and 17. Two in college, two are in managment, and my yougest is a senior with a 4.4 GPA. I am a lucky man and God has blessed me with a beautiful wife and a wonderful life. Oh, I am a cancer survivor. After 6 surgeries and 2 chemo rounds in 2004, it's now in remission.
