cliff

a look of desperation in your eyes
i laugh at your frenzy
taking pride at your cries

clinging on to the edge
i grab your hand
my love, i pledge

"sike", i snicker and say
letting go of you
"HAVE A NICE FUCKING DAY"

giggle as you fall
laugh as you scream
you scream "PAUL!!?"

you hit the floor
all of your hopes
they are no more

tears well in my eyes
screaming to no one
myself, is who i truly despise

walking to the end
calling out to you
my long forgotten friend

i lost sight of what mattered
who i once loved
but now you lay still, tattered

i join you now, at the bottom of the cliff
my love to join you once more
from my tears, i sniff

my final breath
my final cry
i wish you loved me
i wish you knew why
