Beneath a Marble Sky (re-written)

In a fearless world I stand ,alone and daring
looking down a mountain, perceiving all
finding nothing that can take me to the heights that life can
glazing over forms and surfaces, I focus on the cracks of formless voids.
Tough I know deep in me is another who knows it all who knows how to take that step
......if I only let it

I walk on the sidewalks of life
looking yet not perceiving
passing places not entered
going down roads undiscovered
not reaching beyond to what drives me
to what makes me who I am
to what takes me to places unknown
pretending not to care
still moving in different directions
when I know I should turn around
and really see, look at it for what it really is

and take my stand

I should stake out the possibilities and dare to be daring
jump in with both feet, close my eyes and dare to open them, and renew my faith in myself
dare to be different and not conform

I look up and see clouds forming to
an image of my own making
Turning, twisting assimilating white clouds in a brazen magnanimous sky forming shapes
finally becoming
the faces I look for the people I meet
images of places I want to go
fantasies in my dreams

the clouded faces that beckon me
to think, to feel, to understand
to feel it all

it keeps me transfixed , transformed
it gives me a message,in white
it suddenly illuminates my clouded mind
and so I stand amazed, clear and fascinated
beneath this marble sky
