EXASPERATION OF ONCE BEAUTIFUL THINGS

EXASPERATION OF ONCE BEAUTIFUL THINGS

A blank space
Un- kept,
Overgrown
But so full of possibility
With the nurturing only time can bring
Change, new and innocent
Full of wonder and inexperience, childlike in nature
Springs up slowly because of the combination of attention and patience~~
As knowledge leads to the wisdom that only maturation brings
The ups and downs of continual trial and error
Erode the possibility that nurturing and hard work once afforded
Dry dusty earth is what is left of soil,
Once so dark and rich
Birds chirp and flock about no longer
Squirrels are not welcome
Those that once shared time and space peacefully
Now find them selves caught up in a silent war
Full of stares that try incessantly to hide confusion, sadness, and despair
As the once beautiful garden is now, sadly, lifeless at best
Struggling to hold on

beginning of summer 08 (again)
