This Girl, This Boy
There was this girl she was 15
And shadows used to haunt her eyes
No-one knew just where she had been
Its a place called hell and the devil is in disguise
She was raped 5 times before she went to junior high
Spent months in the hospital because of daddies fist
But she never showed her pain, no-one ever saw her cry
She just used a blade to cut her screams into her shaking wrist
There was this boy he was 15
And he saw the girls shadows in class one day
He wasnt quite sure of what he'd just seen
So he kept looking into her eyes to see if the dark went away
This boy could see that this girl was tinted glass
Ready to shatter but hiding her pain
He made it his mission to make sure this girls past
Was never to haunt this fallen angel again
So he waited for months for the walls to come down
He was ready to catch her if ever she fell
He never grew impatient for her to come around
He just did his best to douse the flames of this girls living hell
One day the devil in disguise looked her way
She shattered and crumbled and broke and she cried
The boy held her close and didnt know what to say
But she just sobbed into his chest and he never left her side
Slowly but surely the shadows depart
The sun shines down on this boy and his light
The girls wrists have healed and so has her heart
The past is accepted, the future looks bright
